From October 20 to December 7, 2025, I successfully completed the Jilin University-Cambridge University Mentorship Program in the Philosophy of Science. The program systematically explored core theories including Kuhn’s paradigm shifts and Popper’s falsificationism, alongside epistemological challenges in AI-driven research and the ethical dimensions of scientific discovery.

Through weekly sessions, I deepened my understanding of the historical evolution of scientific methodology while significantly enhancing my academic analytical skills. In the research paper writing component, I mastered topic selection, framework construction, and rigorous philosophical argumentation. Engaging in discussions with instructors and peers, I refined my cross-cultural academic communication abilities, expanded my professional vocabulary, and elevated my English speaking and writing proficiency.

Previously, I viewed science philosophy as abstract theory; now, I recognize its urgent real-world relevance in AI ethics, climate science, and biomedical research. This experience profoundly reshaped my perspective on the philosophy of science, igniting a strong interest in AI ethics. I have now chosen this field as my undergraduate research focus, planning to pursue deeper investigations in this area. The program broadened my academic horizons, clarified my research interests, and solidified my future academic trajectory. Witnessing the intellectual vibrancy of Cambridge’s philosophical studies through interactions with mentors and peers has further fueled my aspiration to continue this scholarly journey at an advanced level.
