The course covered six topics: thought experiment, consequentialism, deontology, virtue ethics, particularism, and anti-theory. Through study, I have a new understanding of several classical theories of moral philosophy. I have learned some philosophical thinking methods and different approaches and perspectives of moral philosophy research. On the other hand, I have gained a more comprehensive understanding of some philosophers who interest me.

It was a brave choice, a lucky encounter, and an amazing learning journey. This is my first time to participate in an exchange program, and also the first time to participate in an all-English course. Before the project started, I was very worried about whether I could understand the professional theories taught by the professor, and I was afraid to speak English, too. But during the class, the professor always smiled and patiently listened to us express our ideas. Try his best to understand and summarize our questions. Then he would give us accurate and clear answers or tell us his thinking on the problem. All these relieved my tension and gave me a sense of accomplishment.

I feel very lucky to be able to participate in these courses. I am exposed to more methods and perspectives of ethics research, which makes me excited. At the same time, the discussion with the Doctor and my classmates and the answer to my doubts by the doctor prompted me to make deeper thinking. Doctor led us to discuss what we actually do when we doing ethics and how it should be done, which made me enjoy the pleasure of learning ethics.

Many thanks to the teacher in charge of the project for helping us communicate with the professor and accompanying us in class. I am also grateful to have spent this period of learning with Dr Farbod Akhlaghi. He is really a good guide and mentor. This may be just a beginning for me, and I sincerely hope to meet Doctor Farbod Akhlaghi again in the future.
