I participated in the 2025 "Jilin University–Cambridge University Mentorship Project," focusing on the Philosophy of Mind. My primary goals were to understand fundamental concepts, explore different philosophical schools, and engage with contemporary debates within this field. In preparation, I enhanced my English proficiency and reviewed introductory materials, including An Introduction to the Philosophy of Mind.

The course was well-structured and intellectually stimulating, though additional class hours would have been beneficial. The teaching methodology was highly effective and greatly facilitated my learning. The project organization was also excellent, with clear and timely communication regarding schedules and assignments.

However, I felt that the guidance for academic writing, particularly for the final paper, was somewhat generalized and not sufficiently tailored to the specific needs of the philosophy of mind track. A more focused approach would have been helpful.

Overall, the project was immensely rewarding. I gained substantial knowledge, learned to analyze different philosophical positions critically, and became aware of key issues in the discipline. For future iterations, I would suggest providing lecture materials or key slides in advance to aid comprehension, especially given the complexity of the subject and the challenge of following lectures in a second language. More detailed and subject-specific writing guidance would further enhance the learning experience.
