MENG XIANGDAN

A lecturer and researcher in rural sociology, was born in China in 1987 and received her degrees of bachelor and master from China Agricultural University (Beijing, China) and her Ph.D (2014) from Wageningen University (NL). Her Ph.D thesis is about feminization of agricultural production in rural China. 

She is a lecturer at the School of Philosophy and Sociology, Jilin University in China. Her research interests include rural transformation and governance, gender studies, rural left-behind women and children, and rural education.

Her co-edited books include Left-behind Population in Rural China: A Critique of Developmentalism (2015) and Rural Education in China: A Critique of Developmentalism (2015). She is co-translating the book Agrarian Change, Migration and Development (2016) written by Raúl Delgado Wise and Henry Veltmeyer into Chinese. Her email address is: mengxiangdan@126.com.
